The GDP of Portugal grew 11.6% in Q1 of 2022, the highest rate in the EU, according to new figures from Eurostat.

The same figures for the eurozone and European Union grew 5.4% and 5.6% in the same period, respectively, despite the economic toll of the war in Ukraine.

According to the EU statistical office, the quarter-on-quarter growth rate of GDP in the eurozone was 0.6% and 0.7% between January and March, after having risen by 0.2% and 0.5% in the last three months of 2021.
