According to Apitrel, “in parallel with this strong price reduction, the coverage rate of high-speed fixed networks has increased, having reached in 2021 with a coverage of 92.5 percent”.

“The most recent data from Eurostat, referring to May 2022, once again demonstrate the strong competitive dynamics of the Portuguese electronic communications market. In a context of generalised increase in prices in the economy, national communications services contribute to a lower inflationary pressure on the national economy, through an evolution below the verified inflation”.

Apritel warns, once again, that “the price evolution comparisons supported by Eurostat’s HICP [Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices] cannot be used to compare price levels between countries, only their evolution, and with appropriate precautions”.
