Odeiceixe beach – Aljezur

Here the river meets the ocean, providing a choice of inland or sea options. Whether you are a fan of big waves or shallow paddling in the river, this beach has something for children of all ages.

Praia Grande – Lagoa

Once you are down the stair then you can settle onto the fine sands. There is a playpark for smaller children, very calm waters and even a choice of restaurants for a beach lunch for the whole family.

Oura beach – Albufeira

Thrill seekers need to head here in the summer to take advantage of parasailing, jet-skis, banana boats, wake boarding and various terrifying looking inflatables that bounce you across the ocean at high speed!

Praia do Barril - Tavira

The journey alone to this beach is enough to delight adults and children alone, thanks to the small train that takes you across to the beach. When you finally arrive you can also marvel at the anchor graveyard.

Praia do Carvoeiro - Lagoa

This is not the biggest beach in the world but is has incredible access, so no issues with pushchairs! Being so close to the centre of town you have everything at your fingertips, including good bathrooms.

Praia da Rocha – Portimão

This enormous beach is home to sports areas, surf lessons, a great choice of beach bars and restaurants and even a large play area on the sand. You never need to feel cramped for style here.
