“The year-on-year change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 8.7% in June 2022, a rate that is 0.7 percentage points higher than that observed in the previous month and the highest since December 1992”, informed the INE, confirming preliminary figures.

The underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy) also accelerated, registering a year-on-year change of 6.0%, a rate that is 0.4 percentage points higher than that recorded in May 2022 and “the highest value recorded since June 1994”.
