“Right now, our priority is the Quinta do Lago area”, said the District Operational Commander, Richard Marques, in a situation report.

For the commander of the fire-fighting operations that started at 11:30 pm on Tuesday in the municipality of Faro and which later evolved to Loulé, “there is a joint effort in order to quickly stabilise” the fire that, “ at the moment, it is 50 to 60% consolidated”.

According to this official, people continue to be “preventively evacuated” from the Quinta do Lago area, including 20 people have been moved from an unlicensed park with motorhomes.
