The Government decided today that “it is not necessary to reactivate the state of situation” to respond to forest fires, taking into account that for the next few days “a typical summer scenario” is foreseen.

The Secretary of State for Civil Protection, Patrícia Gaspar, said that “it is not necessary to activate the alert situation again”, but the risk of rural fire remains due to the extreme drought situation.
Patrícia Gaspar stated that the situation will be reassessed on Tuesday.
