According to a report by Sky News, the Brexit opportunities minister for the British government, told reporters that problems facing travellers trying to cross the English Channel are down to the French who are “not getting enough people to man the extra booths” they have placed in the port of Dover.

"If the French decide not to provide the immigration officers that are needed, then there will be queues. But this was a decision of the French.

"I mean, it's worth noting that the Portuguese have allowed the British to use e-gates to get into Portugal. So it may be that people will find it's easier to go on holiday in Portugal," and added that Portugal was our oldest ally of England "so we should always be very friendly towards the Portuguese".
