The municipality in Madeira made the announcement on its Facebook page, without explaining the reasons for this ban.

The council “makes public the temporary ban on bathing” on the beach, a situation “declared by the Health Administration Institute of Madeira”.

In the same note, the municipality says that “a new assessment will be carried out on July 31, 2022, as a result of the analysis carried out today”.

This is the second beach in Madeira to be closed to bathing this week, after the red flag was hoisted at the Doca do Cavacas bathing complex, in Funchal, due to the detection of pollution at sea.

Today, the Doca dos Cavacas complex once again hoisted the green flag.
