North Sea Farmers claim to
have completed the first mechanical harvesting of offshore seaweed, which is
seen as an important milestone in the seaweed industry.

The Dutch company has been growing kelp at a
site located 12 kilometres off the Dutch coast and have converted a fishing
boat into a mechanical harvester according to a report by the BBC.
