“Taking the quarterly figures as a reference and not the year ended in the quarter, the balance in the 2nd quarter of 2022 reached 1,104.6 million euros, corresponding to 1.9% of GDP, which compares with -5, 6% in the same period last year”, says the INE note.

The INE also indicates that, considering the first semester, the balance was also positive, settling at 0.8% of GDP, “recording a significant improvement in this indicator compared not only to the homologous semesters of 2020 and 2021, marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, but also in relation to 2019”.

The deficit recorded in the first three months of the year was 0.4% of GDP.
