António Costa made this announcement in the final part of his speech at the acceptance ceremony of 97 new PJ inspectors, in Lisbon.

“We have to ensure continuity and predictability in the management of the PJ. An ordinance will be published by the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Finance [Fernando Medina] defining the multi-annual framework for PJ income until 2026”, declared the leader of the executive.

Following this step, according to the prime minister, “by 2026, 750 more officers will enter the inspection and criminal investigation career”.

“In the scientific police specialist career, there will be 250 more officers and in the special security career, another 100 officers,” added Costa.
