“Man United have disrespected Ronaldo and I think they should have let him out before the transfer market closed. The coach held him back because he needed options, but you can't hold on to Ronaldo to sit him on the bench. Ronaldo is one of the best players ever. He [Ronaldo] had options [to go out in the summer]. He had four or five options”, said Roy Keane in statements to Sky Sports.

“The big question is that Ten Hag is not going to put Ronaldo on to play. He will play more in the Europa League games, but this will only get uglier as the season progresses. United have disrespected Ronaldo and they should have let him go when there was an opportunity."

“Like I said, he had options to leave, I know that. Holding him there to sit him on the bench is ridiculous for a player of his status", he concluded.
