An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was
recorded on Wednesday afternoon (2 November) in Albufeira, Algarve.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and
Atmosphere (IPMA), the epicenter was located about 50 kilometers south-southwest of
the town.
The same authority also states that the quake "did not
cause personal or material damage", having been felt with maximum
intensity II on the Mercalli scale.
