In a statement, the airline detailed the change to the winter operation, which "will start to be applied from November 15th to December 31st, with an average of up to seven flights per day being cancelled on connections with less occupancy and for which there are several alternatives available in the TAP network or in partner companies".

"Passengers affected by cancelled flights will be informed directly and in a timely manner by TAP, indicating the alternative travel solution", guaranteed the carrier.

Additionally, TAP said that it will extend the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) external service agreement with Air Bulgaria, "to avoid the cancellation of additional flights and maintain the operation at its maximum capacity".

"TAP apologises in advance to the affected passengers, knowing the importance that the Christmas season has for all its customers, and is making efforts to ensure that everyone can make the trips they planned without setbacks", added the airline.
