The November ASB ride was dedicated to the late Jochen Heinson who sadly lost his long battle with illness earlier this month at his home in Germany.

Jochen was a regular ride leader in his many years as an ASB member.

This month's ride was on some of his favourite roads through the hills to Almodôvar before returning for lunch in Alte via the N2 to Amexial and then back over the hills to Salir.

The riders stopped on the way at the viewpoint near Malhao for a one-minute silence to remember Jochen and his bright blue VW-powered trike. All those present signed a remembrance card which Steve Wills will pass on to Jochen's Wife Hannelore and family together with the condolences of the ASB.

The ride took place a few days later than scheduled on Saturday 19th November. Delayed by the recent rainy weather. The chilly but clear bright sunny day allowed the 33 riders taking part to see and enjoy the beautiful distant views from the high roads of the Algarve and southern Alentejo. Leaders on the day were Roy West and Andrew Chilton assisted by Alain Balouzet and Peter Kenyon. A great day out on some quite spectacular roads of the Algarve, a very enjoyable lunch at O Folclore, and a fitting tribute to the late Jochen.
