The president of the COP defends that “sport should send a message for the parties to understand each other, it should not support one party against the other”, at a time when attendance at the Paris 2024 OlympicGames is being debated.
“Sport should be a factor of pacification and rapprochement between the opposing parties. Everything that has been done - not in the sense of finding balanced and peaceful solutions, but of arming one of the parties against the other - does not seem to me to work. And it is clear what is happening”.
