In a statement, the Coliseu do Porto highlighted the debut in Portugal of the contemporary circus company Les 7 Doigts de la Main, the return of the National Ballet Company (CNB) and national lyrical and symphonic productions.

“For this year, we formulated a firm desire: to continue the fundamental programmatic lines of the Coliseum's intervention in the cultural fabric and the quality of the reception of the different public communities and, at the same time, affirm the launch of innovative projects, cementing this relationship with the artistic areas essential elements of this mission and increasing its presence throughout the calendar”, said the president of the Coliseu Porto Ageas, Mónica Guerreiro.

O Coliseu highlights the presentation of “Na Colónia Penal”, by Philip Glass, by Martim Sousa Tavares (October 25), “Requiem”, by Frigyes Hidas, (March 28), a national premiere by Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa, and “Cármen”, by Georges Bizet (September 22), commissioned by the Porto opera house for the Ópera na Academia e na Cidade directed by maestro Ferreira Lobo.
