Students in several Portuguese cities are demonstrating to raise awareness of global warming and the need to take action to stop it, initiatives that take place around the world and are part of the 'Fridays for Future' movement, initiated by Greta Thunberg .

In Portugal, in an organisation of the 'Student Climate Strike' movement, young people demand the end of fossil fuels by 2030 and 100% renewable and accessible energy for all people by 2025.

Dinis Costa, one of the activists participating in the demonstration, accused oil companies of having "record profits" while increasing the cost of living.

"The Government's inactivity is leading us to collapse. For there to be an end to fossil fuels by 2030, we will have to pay for them", said the young man.
