On social networks, his mother Sandrine Afonso, revealed that her son Hugo "ran away on Monday, February 27, from the village of Viana do Castelo".

According to NM, Hugo does not have access to social networks or a phone and did not take identification documents with him.

Sandrine believes that Hugo may be accompanied "with two other young people" around Viana do Castelo, in Monção, Melgaço, Valença, Arcos de Valdevez, Ponte de Lima, Famalicão or in "another village".

Another possibility is that he has tried to travel to Bordeaux, "by hitchhiking" or on a bus.

When he disappeared, Hugo was wearing black tracksuit pants and a Nike jacket in three colours: black, grey and white. He measures 1.65 metres, is blond and has blue eyes.

"If he asked you for a ride or if you saw him, please contact the local GNR because the alert is nationwide. Please share, we are desperate", appealed Sandrine Afonso on her Facebook page.

A source from the Public Security Police (PSP) confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto that the disappearance has been reported and that the authorities are taking steps to find Hugo.

At the moment, the PSP is "establishing contacts", but "so far nothing is known".

The same source recalled that many teenagers run away, but that they usually return home after a day. Hugo has now been missing for four days.
