According to a report by Lusa, the tourism board will be taking part in the ITB Berlin tourism fair in Germany with a total of 89 companies and seven tourism regions participating in the event to bring Portugal to Germany.

Head of the tourism board Luís Araújo, said that the number of companies at the tourism fair is similar to that in 2020 but that this year the focus of the Portuguese offer will be on showcasing the “diversity” of Portugal as a destination.

“The German market is the second main market for Portugal when it comes to the number of guests but is the fourth for revenue”, highlighted Araújo who added that German is also the main export market for Europe and the “third largest in the world for trips”, making it an essential market for growth.
