One takeaway from the event is very clear: Portugal is still attracting interest from buyers across the globe.

This past week in Las Vegas was an unforgettable experience for both me personally, and for Casaiberia as a company. We were so pleasantly surprised by the gracious manner in which we were received. We were welcomed with open arms right from the minute we arrived at the airport in Las Vegas and made our way to the Hotel Wynn Boulevard in the heart of the city.

One thing that I really appreciated was the inclusivity of the event. Whether you had 10,000 employees or only a few, your insights were appreciated. The size of your company was not as important as the quality of your work and your willingness to share your experiences with others in the network.

LeadingRE’s motto is: "We’re local; we’re global", and this is truly felt during events like these. It’s fantastic to exchange ideas with others in the same field, with the same level of respect regardless of whether you make 16 billion in transactions in New York or 3 million in transactions in a small suburb of France, because the criteria here lie elsewhere.

We also had the opportunity to spend time with some fantastic colleagues like Jochen Lucke, President of Silver Creek Real Estate Group, who comes from Stuttgart and has been incredibly successful in Florida for 30 years. We also met with Sue Lowe, President of Chase International and one of the faces of the real estate industry in the USA, and Bud Bush, who built one of the most successful brokerage companies in Dallas and sold after 3 years in Colorado with Blue Bird.

Jasmine Tennis also impressed me with her determined and professional stance, yet relaxed demeanour. It's not surprising that Jasmine is one of the brokers in the US that tech executives and luxury buyers turn to when they’re looking for a new property. These are just some examples of people we met who are dominating and expanding in their local markets.

I can’t forget to mention the fantastic moderation carried out by one of the most successful entrepreneurs in digital media, Mickey Alam Khan, who I have to thank for being offered a space on the panel "Managing Seller Expectations in a Changing Landscape", to represent Casaibéria and offer a European perspective on this topic.

Attractive market

Portugal is a country that is so attractive to international buyers, but many of the questions that arose were around the changes to the golden visa, and concerns around bureaucratic changes, which are unfortunately a little difficult to tackle in a setting like this.

This event was an incredible success, and it was great to be around so many with shared values. Transparency, honesty, trust, and education are the cornerstones of this community of incredible real estate professionals. We look forward to seeing everyone again in Dubai in September.
