Traditionally the AGM is followed by dinner, and this year’s was accompanied by wines from the Campolargo estate in Bairrada.

The menu centred on a main course of seared duck breast with pumpkin terrine and a jus of port wine and tangerine, paired with Campolargo Baga Castelão 2016, a well-balanced wine exploiting the strengths of both these indigenous varietals. Owner Carlos Campolargo presented a number of his wines, including the Diga Branco 2014, aged in old oak barrels and so gaining character, colour and longevity without any obvious oakiness.

The evening concluded with music from Wild Guitars and some enthusiastic dancing from AWS members.
