The event, organised by the São Francisco de Assis Association in partnership with the Union of Parishes of Carcavelos and Parede, took place on Saturday, April 29th.

The initiative aimed to promote responsible adoption while offering owners and dogs the chance to try out surfing with their four-legged friends. The event also intended to attract support and donations for the São Francisco de Assis Association, according to a report by ECO.

“At União das Freguesias de Carcavelos and Parede, we believe in the importance of promoting events that reinforce the community spirit and encourage the participation of all, including pets. The Surf Canino event is a perfect example of how we can unite a sport like surfing with our concern around animal welfare and responsible adoption", said Nuno Alves, President from UFCP.

“We are extremely pleased to have received, once again, Surf Canino at Praia de Carcavelos and to work side by side with Associação São Francisco de Assis, making known all the work carried out by the Association in collecting and protecting animals”, added.
