With around a hundred bikers taking part, the competition was very balanced with Toni Bou winning on the first day and Jaime Busto winning the second, the two Spaniards were only separated by a singular point. In the women’s category, British current world champion Emma Bristow (Sherco) took a methodical victory. In Trial2, the win went to Billy Green (Scorpa) while Trial3 was dominated by Brit George Hemingway (Beta), who won on both days.

With the fantastic landscapes of the Serra da Estrela serving as the backdrop to the races that took place on the 22nd and 23rd of April, Jorge Simões, President of the Trial GP organisational body, confirmed that the race report came back as very positive. “The Portuguese Trial GP that happened in Gouveia was very satisfactory to all who participated. It was very balanced, diverse and well-regulated and because of that, we were able to enjoy a fun and emotional weekend that reminds us of Trial challenges of older times. We had a large audience come to watch and we’re very proud of the work we’ve done. Now, we have the chance to continue this project since with the coordination of the Municipality and the federal entities we have the conditions we need to keep this great competition in Gouveia.”

The next stop in the Hertz FIM Trial World Championship is the Japan TrialGP, which takes place between the 19th and 21st of May.
