The supermarket chain will open its doors in Marco de Canaveses and Oliveira do Hospital on the 14 and 16 of December, respectively.

With these two openings, Aldi says it will "achieve the goal of 122 stores in Portugal".

"These two new spaces are an important milestone for the brand, as they will be the first Aldi stores to open in the municipalities of Marco de Canaveses and Oliveira do Hospital, allowing it to respond to the needs of the local population and offer them innovative products, with affordable prices, many of which from its own brands, where national production already has a significant weight".

João Braz Teixeira, managing director of expansion and construction of Aldi Portugal, states that "the investment in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses was based on the population density of the region, as well as its economic and tourist relevance, which is increasingly significant".

The investment in Oliveira do Hospital was motivated by the possibility of "serving the resident population, workers in one of the largest industrial zones in Serra da Estrela, but also students, employees, and users of the nearest schools and hospitals, since the new store is strategically located next to a roundabout, at the main access entrance to the city".
