The road safety campaign is set to run until 2 January and will focus on speeding, consumption of alcohol and drugs while driving, and using a mobile phone while driving.

"The message is very clear: the only acceptable number of fatalities on the road is zero and for that, we all have to work towards the same goal", said the president of ANSR, Rui Ribeiro, warning of the consequences of speed, alcohol and using a mobile phone.

PSP, the GNR, and National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection, will be on the main roads of the country to guarantee road safety for all citizens travelling at this time of year.
