Meteorologist Maria João Frada said: “The temperatures are high - both the minimums and the maximums. They are above average for the time of year, although all of this is compatible with the entry of tropical masses of maritime origin coming from the Atlantic, which has brought precipitation and also above-average temperatures”, she said.
The maximum temperatures, according to Maria João Frada, will fluctuate between 16 and 19/20 degrees Celsius, being lower in the interior North and Centre between 13 and 15 degrees, and the minimum between 12 and 15 degrees, being lower in northeastern Trás-os-Montes and Beira Alta, varying between 9 and 11 degrees.
“This scenario will continue in the coming days. Temperatures should remain in this order of magnitude for the Christmas weekend, without major changes. There may be a slight decrease, but not significant”, she indicated.
According to Maria João Frada, from the 23rd, Friday morning, a cold frontal surface is approaching that will lead to rain in Minho and Douro Litoral and will extend to all regions of the North and Centre.
Winter starts at 21:48 today (Lisbon time), according to the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory.
