Forecasts point to a decrease of 3.5 cents per litre in the case of simple diesel and 0.5 cents per litre in the case of petrol according to Notícias ao Minuto.

This is the second consecutive week of price drops after prices fell last week: the average price of simple diesel dropped by 6.4 cents, while 95 simple petrol recorded a reduction of 4.9 cents.

Data is based on the average prices published by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) on the Fuel Prices Online portal.

According to the regulator, supermarkets "maintain the most competitive offers in road fuels, followed by operators in the 'low cost' segment". Braga, Castelo Branco and Coimbra had the lowest diesel and petrol prices, while Beja, Bragança and Faro had the highest prices.
