The money being raised will go towards organising adoptions and taking care of cats that can't be re-homed due to age and disability. The name of the charity’s project, Mr. No Ears Cat Haven’s, was named after a white cat in Albufeira that had his ears removed due to cancer. They received money from sponsors all over the world and here in Portugal to make this operation possible. The charity is more like a Hospice as they look after many cats that suffer serious illnesses and injuries. They love them and provide a safe and happy environment for the cats. The story can be read here: https://facebook.com/abrigoparagatos

The 6km walk will take place on 25 February at 11am starting and ending at Figs on the Funcho, S.B Messines, and will take about 1 hour. “We will follow the path along the river Funcho and pass through the pine and cork forests before reaching the church perched on the hill. On the hill, we are rewarded with panoramic vistas of the Algarve's rural countryside where cattle have been raised and animals hunted. The walking route is shared with the shepherd and as it is the lambing season, we may meet his flock of sheep and little lambs.”

Coffee/tea and cake will be served after the walk and an opportunity to make new friends and connections face-to-face.
