Drug supply issues in the country's pharmacies continues. For this reason, the National Medicines Authority (Infarmed) suspended the export of 110 medicines, such as amoxicillin, ibuprofen or vaccines against typhoid, hepatitis A and tuberculosis, according to Correio da Manhã.
There are also 98 other medicines whose sale to other European Union countries requires prior notification, which is the case of Clamoxyl, Nurofen, Trifen and Ben-U-Ron.
According to Infarmed, the problems with the supply of medicines is due, in some cases, to manufacturing problems, in others to failures in distribution, or even to increased demand, as is the case of ibuprofen. Stock outages have been taking place for several weeks in some pharmacies and there are medicines, such as some antibiotics, whose replenishment is only scheduled for May.
