The body of a 63-year-old man, who lived on a sailboat anchored on the Guadiana River, was located in the river yesterdy, "by people who towed it to the bank", the captain of the port, Rui Andrade, told Lusa.

According to the official, the causes of death of the British citizen are still unknown, who had been seen for the last time on December 6th while on board the pleasure boat he used to travel ashore.

After contacting the local health delegate and the Public Ministry, the body was transported to the Legal Medical Office in Faro with the support of the Alcoutim Fire Department.

The search to find the man had started on December 8th, in the municipality of Alcoutim, after people had alerted the authorities when they saw the pleasure boat used by the man adrift and without anyone on board.
