To the same source, the municipality revealed that due to the frequency of situations of vandalism, the municipality has difficulties in maintaining the spaces with conditions to be used by the inhabitants.

The municipality, according to Sul Informação, said that it is impossible to keep the spaces secure as permanent surveillance would be required in 62 existing playgrounds.

The municipality assumes that there are few places for young people in Faro, as such, in the areas where the playgrounds will be closed, “street workout equipment, table tennis tables” will be placed, says Sul Informação.
