"The idea is to start in the first half and the time span is 18 months. I think it is very important work, the building is very well situated, near the centre of the village and all of the municipality's infrastructure", said the president of the Madeiran executive.

Miguel Albuquerque (PSD) considered that this project will contribute to "fixing the young and middle-class population of Ponta do Sol, with affordable rents", which is in a municipality in the west of the island of Madeira, governed by the PS.

The governor stressed that this is "an investment under the PRR [Recovery and Resilience Program] that will cover all the municipalities of Madeira".

The leader of the Madeiran executive mentioned that the president of the municipality of Ponta do Sol, socialist Celia Pessegueiro, "is as committed to solving" the project as himself.

According to the governor, "the architectural process has been approved, but other aspects are awaiting approval. However, all of the conditions have been met to start the project, through a license that president [of the municipality] has to issue".

Celia Pessegueiro said that the survey conducted indicated that there were 150 cases of housing shortages in that municipality.

The new housing project will be implemented in an area of 3,160 square meters, consisting of 15 apartments of typology T2, twelve T1, and three T3.
