The visit is expected to take place early in the month, with planning underway to sort the finer details visit.

A government source told the mirror that plans “will be finalised in the coming weeks. The Gardai have been fully informed."

The security preparations for the trip are said to be “substantial” but not so extreme as the preparations in place for US President Joe Biden’s visit last week.

The visit to Ireland will take place in and around a month after Charles’s coronation, which will take place 6th May. Both the Taoiseach and President Michael D. Higgins are expected to be in attendance.
