This is fantastic for the team and rugby generally in Portugal. A touring South African Rugby legends team adds to this growing focus and interest in the game in Portugal.

The main event of the tour occurs on Saturday 17 June, when the South African Rugby Legends will play an exhibition Rugby Match against a Portugal Barbarians Legends Team. Ex-Portuguese Rugby Internationals will be teaming up with retired internationals from leading rugby nations many of them from Portugal's first visit to the Rugby World Cup in 2007.

The South Africa Rugby Legends team will include players from South Africa´s three world cup winning teams in 1995, 2007 and 2019. The squad consists of 24 springboks, 5 springbok captains, 9 world cup winners, and 2 rugby centurions. A fantastic mix of rugby ambassadors being proudly welcomed in Portugal.

This is a great opportunity for the Portuguese public to come down and watch world cup champions play in Portugal and to get behind their local players. For a growing South African community living in Portugal or general rugby fans, what a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with and witness some of the greatest rugby players in action.
