In maximum danger are 58 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém and Faro.

At very high risk are more than 90 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Lisbon, Santarém, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra, Viseu, Porto, Braga, Vila Real, Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre and Faro.

The IPMA also placed the entire Alentejo region and around 50 municipalities in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Leria, Santarém, Lisbon and Faro at high risk.

The fire risk determined by the IPMA has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum and calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 4,957 fire events have already affected at least 10,000 hectares of rural areas.

The IPMA predicts for today on the continent a drop in the maximum temperature and periods of very cloudy skies, with the possibility of light rain on the North coast and Center until mid-morning, becoming slightly cloudy or clear in the South region and inland Center.

The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 13ºCelsius (Bragança, Coimbra and Leiria) and 20ºC (Faro and Portalegre) and the maximum between 25ºC (Viseu) and 36ºC (Castelo Branco, Évora and Beja).
