According to the promoters Live Nation and Ritmos & Blues, the “Celebration Tour” should have started in July in Canada and the United States, with concerts until October, but with the rescheduling, the new tour starts in Europe, on October 14, in London.

In Lisbon, Madonna maintains the two previously announced dates, on November 6 and 7 at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon.

The North American leg of the tour will start on December 13th in New York, United States.

The tour had been suspended at the end of June because of a bacterial infection, with the American artist being hospitalised for several days in an intensive care unit.

"'The Celebration Tour' will revisit Madonna's entire artistic journey over four decades and pay homage to New York City - where she began her music career," reads the statement.

Madonna, who celebrates her 65th birthday today, last performed in Lisbon in January 2020, as part of the “Madame X” European tour, which took place in smaller, more intimate venues.

The “Madame X” tour and the Celebration tour were creatively influenced by Madonna's experience in Lisbon in previous years, where she came into contact with Portuguese-speaking and Latin culture.
