From May 24, 2024, Faro Airport will receive direct United flights, departing from New York/Newark, according to Ana Aeroportos de Portugal.

United will therefore be the first and only American airline with direct flights to Faro. According to the airline: “the new flight will make it easier for US customers to visit the Portuguese region of the Algarve, which is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.”

The flight will be operated four times a week on a Boeing 757-200, highlighting United which currently serves “more destinations in Portugal than all US airlines, with its existing year-round service between New York/Newark-Lisbon, as well as seasonal service between Washington/Dulles-Lisbon, New York/Newark-Porto and New York/Newark-Ponta Delgada, Azores”.
