The project foresees a total investment of €12.2 million for the construction of new infrastructure, according to a report by Publituris.

“This project has a very positive impact on the nautical-tourist offer, increasing the notoriety of Lagos and the Algarve as a destination with a qualified tourism offer”, said the Secretary of State for Fisheries, Teresa Coelho, who approved the agreement.

Consideration will be given as compensation, valued at 2.3 million euros, for the installation of various infrastructures, such as new floating jetties for the parking of 170 local boats, exclusively for residents of the municipality of Lagos, which will respond to the needs of fishermen and 40 vessels for maritime-tourist activities. Also noteworthy is the relocation of the floating docks to moor the boats of the Lagos Sailing Club.

The new area, concessioned for a period of 50 years, occupies a total of 64,820 m2, consisting of a land area, where a Yacht Club will be located, a parking lot for 108 dry boats and another for 75 vehicles, as well as a wet area for mooring around 100 recreational boats measuring more than 10 meters.
