“We have practically completed the "Sea 2020" program. By the end of the year we will reach 96% of financial execution and we will have complete physical execution”, announced Maria do Céu Antunes, in response to deputies, in a parliamentary hearing on the Budget and Finance and Agriculture and Fisheries committees.

According to the holder of the Agriculture and Food portfolio, who is also in charge of fisheries, this program will be completed in the first months of 2024.

The minister also highlighted that this program has 505 million euros in allocation, leveraging a total of 800 million euros.

"Sea 2020", which is part of Portugal 2020, aims to implement support measures included in the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), with the promotion of competitiveness and economic, social and environmental, as well as increasing territorial cohesion.

As regards "Sea 2030", the minister said that 16 notices were opened, with a total of 200 million euros.

This program has an additional 40 million euros in allocation compared to the previous period.
