The group highlighted that it continues to work on its “commitment to the northern region, boosting the increase in air connectivity at Porto airport”.

In the same note, the manager said that this work translates “into growth, which yesterday [Tuesday], symbolically, was reflected in the reception of the 15 millionth passenger, who travelled with Turkish Airlines, originating in Istanbul and landing during the afternoon at Porto airport”.

Growth compared to 2022 was 20%, they indicated.

On the same day, “Porto airport reached another record, when the TAP Air Portugal flight, originating in New York, was the 100,000th movement when it landed, during the morning, at Porto airport, also constituting a new record for landings and take-offs in a single year”.

The statement also states that Porto airport “continues to successfully diversify direct connections to the main markets in Europe and significantly grow traffic in direct intercontinental connections” and these increased by around 51% in the number of passengers, in comparison with the previous year.

According to the company, for next year, the reinforcement of long-haul flights has already been confirmed, particularly to North America, such as Boston, New York and Toronto with Azores Airlines.

ANA and Vinci recalled that Porto airport served more than 12.6 million passengers in 2022, representing an increase of 116.3% compared to 2021, highlighting that the previous record of 13 million passengers had been reached in 2019.

Porto is connected to more than 106 direct destinations, through 30 airlines, and this year, it received seven more companies and 17 new routes.
