According to the European Statistics Office, in the Eurozone, construction production fell 0.7% year-on-year and 1.0% quarter-on-quarter. In the 27 EU Member States as a whole, the indicator decreased by 0.4% compared to October 2022 and 0.6% compared to the previous month.

In Portugal, on the other hand, construction production accelerated, in October, by 5.8% compared to the same period last year and 1.1% compared to the month of September.

Among the Member States, the biggest year-on-year declines were recorded in Finland (-7.3%), Sweden (-4.6%) and Belgium (-3.5%). The biggest increases occurred in Romania (9.2%), Spain (8.3%) and Poland (7.5%).

In monthly terms, the biggest declines were observed in Slovenia (-6.1%), Germany and Slovakia (-2.2% each) and France (-2.0%). The biggest increases were recorded in Romania and Sweden (3.0% each), Spain (1.4%) and Austria (1.3%).
