According to the Tax Foundation, single-average wage workers in Europe were paying about one-third of their wages in taxes in 2022.

Tax burdens across Europe vary significantly, with workers in Western Europe and more developed countries paying considerably more.

Denmark (55.9 percent), France (55.4 percent), and Austria (55 percent) have the highest top statutory personal income tax rates among European OECD countries.

Denmark (55.9 percent), Austria (55 percent) and Portugal (53 percent) are some of the countries with the highest personal income tax rates.

These articles are getting worse and worse. It says absolutely nothing and gives the wrong impression. Yes, Austria has an income tax of 55%, but only for the part of the income that exceeds EUR 1,000,000 per year.
