The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced that Ronaldo, as well as Diogo Dalot, João Cancelo, Danilo Pereira, Otávio, Rúben Neves, Vitinha and João Félix have not been called up for the match that will take place in Guimarães and will only be an option for the second game in the March window, which will be in Slovenia.

This means that Robert Martínez will have 24 players in preparation for the game with the Swedes, although Raphael Guerreiro and Trincão are doubtful due to physical problems.

On Sunday, Bayern Munich announced that Guerreiro would not even travel to Portugal, but the FPF confirmed the presence of the 30-year-old player at Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, to be evaluated by the medical department.

Roberto Martínez called up a total of 32 players for the March games, but immediately explained that he would divide the 'squad' into three groups, with one group available at every stage, another just for the game with Sweden and a third, now announced , for the game with the Slovenes.

Rookies Francisco Conceição and Jota Silva now have a chance for their first caps against Sweden.

The national team hosts Sweden, which failed to qualify, on Thursday, at the D. Afonso Henriques Stadium, in Guimarães, and five days later, on March 26, it will go to Ljubljana to play with the Slovenes.
