In a note published on its official page, the Porto City Council clarified that the multi-sports teams at the basic schools of Viso, António Nobre, Pêro Vaz de Caminha, Areosa, Manoel Oliveira and Leonardo Coimbra, are being upgraded.

The rehabilitations, carried out by the municipal company GO Porto, meet the "specific needs of each school, but also residents, clubs and local associations", within the scope of federated sport.

The work includes painting sports lines, outdoor floor installations, installation of basketball tables, goals suitable for sports, mesh fences, and access gates.

"There are also specific situations for each location", says the municipality.

At the António Nobre and Leonardo Coimbra elementary schools, two floors are planned to be installed in the sports facilities (one synthetic and the other made of acrylic resin).

Three fields will be installed at the Areosa and Manoel Oliveira schools (one for handball and two for basketball), and at the Viso school a field on a modular PVC floor.

The requalification of these sports spaces has an execution period of 180 days, with the municipality expecting the works to be completed in time for the start of the next academic year.
