Portugal won 21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, and 17-15, at the Pavilhão Desportivo Colégio La Salle, in Barcelos, and finished the group in first place, which earned them direct qualification, ahead of the Netherlands, Hungary and Norway.

The Portuguese team was losing 7-4, but managed to recover and take the lead at 10-9 and they then won the game with 17-15.

Inês Costa, with 21 points, Maria Coelho, with 15, and Joana Garcez, with 13, were the main scorers for the Portuguese team. For the Netherlands, Yike Jelsma, with 28 points, was the featured player.

In the meeting that preceded the decision for first place in the group, between Portugal and the Netherlands, Hungary beat Norway 3-0, with scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-14, and finished in third place.

The final phase of the Women's Under-20 European Championship is scheduled to take place between August 5 and 17, 2024, in Bulgaria and Ireland.

16 teams will qualify for the European Championship: the two organisers (Bulgaria and Ireland), plus the winners of the five tournaments in the 1st round and the winners and the four best runners-up in the 2nd round.
