Ireland's participation in the European Peace Facility's Ukraine Assistance Fund, as decided by the EU Foreign Affairs Council in March, has received government approval thanks to Tánaiste Micheál Martin.
The Cabinet was informed that this fund will give Ukraine steady, long-term support as it faces significant strain from Russian offensives there.
With this, Ireland would have committed a total of almost €400.6 million through 2027 to the European Peace Facility, which was established in 2020.
Ireland's contributions to the European Peace Facility are limited to military assistance that is non-lethal.
Irelands Part in Ukraine Assistance Fund Approved
Ireland's share of the EU accord, which would see an additional €5 billion in funding for Ukraine, is based on its gross national income, which comes to just over €128 million.
