Before you fall, hook line and sinker, for the conscience soothing "environmentally friendly" marketing ploy, let's see what they have to say about sustainability which includes recycling. Already in Canada, there's been reports of consumers of earlier models of electric cars whose batteries have degraded to the point where they don't take a full charge anymore, and they're unreliable...for example, they come out from the grocery store and wonder if their car will start. Cars have been towed to their mechanics only to find out there's no replacement batteries. One owner said he was going to try to sell it! I guess it's a case of buyer beware all the way around. It'll end up costing more money in the long run. I guess that's the real marketing ploy....keep changing the technology and the consumer will be forced to buy a newer model. Just like with "smart" phones, entertainment devices, and appliances. Electronic waste is the new plastic.
