Porto restrictions

In the city of Porto, car traffic will be restricted on Thursday on Avenida da República, in Vila Nova de Gaia, between Rua Rocha Leão - next to the upper deck of the Luís I Bridge - and Rua Doutor Ferreira de Macedo, but also between Rua Rodrigues de Freitas and Rua Casino da Ponte, the municipality revealed in a statement sent to newsrooms.

The interruption is due to the holding of a Civic Parade as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, where associations and communities from the municipality will participate, and will take place between 2pm and 6pm.

In addition to the restrictions mentioned above, the municipality adds that there will be constraints on adjacent roads.

In turn, the pedestrian area of Rua Álvares Cabral, in the parish of Mafamude, will be occupied with "a stage set up for a musical moment".

In view of this, Porto Council "suggests that heavy passenger transport vehicles use as an alternative route (north-south, Porto - Gaia) circulation along Avenida Dom João II, Rua Raimundo de Carvalho, Avenida da República (El Corte Inglés), Rua Pádua Correia and Largo dos Aviadores".
