Speaking from Dublin, Ireland, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa answered journalists' questions about Liz Truss' resignation and the Iberian gas pipeline agreement.

The President of the Republic showed "concern" about the resignation of Liz Truss, justifying the "instability" that this resignation causes, mainly regarding the consequences "in the financial markets at a global level" and not only in Portugal.

The British prime minister announced her resignation this Thursday (20 October) in a statement outside her Downing Street official residence in London, 45 days after taking office.

Truss remains in office as prime minister until a successor to the party's leadership is chosen.

When asked about the Iberian gas pipeline agreement, the Head of State considered that the "green energy corridor will be very important for Europe".
